Ikea bed slats review: 312 lb weight test results

I tested the IKEA’s Luroy bed slats with my homemade concrete weights that I use for strength training while spending winters in Thailand. I am shocked at how strong these thin and light wood slats are, even with 312 lb on four of them!

That is 78 lb on the center of each slat and although they sagged 1 1/8″ they did not break. AND they sprung back into shape as you can see in the last photo at the bottom of this page.

Check out my test results of adding concrete weights to the IKEA Tarva frame and the article about if Ikea beds break easily here.

If each end was screwed to the frame they would be stronger, read my Do Bed Slats Need to be Screwed Down here.

I thought that these would flatten out and not return to their original bowed shape. I was wrong. These are much stronger than I expected!
